With the arrival of little Carys Elaine last week, we thought it's about time we started a blog so that you can all share in our joy!

The large gorgeous girl is busy catching up on some sleep after an almost sleepless night feeding Carys. The little gorgeous girl is also sleeping... punch drunk from plenty of formula. We are trying to get her ready for a weigh-in today, and keep the doctors happy.
Well... in true seminary fashion... that's all I have time for for now... I have to finish translating Genesis 3:8-16 and then about 25 verses from the New Testament in time for an exam tomorrow... plus a fair bit of reading to do... oh, and Carys needs to be taken to visit the Paediatrician! :-)

What! No comments yet?? Tom - good to see you've mastered the "I can feed babies and use a computer" skill already. Just don't forget which one is going to need an upgrade...lol.

Yep... mastering the "I'm going to think all this through and then type it all up in a minute" method too!
Had to memorise the definitions for 71 Greek words for a test the other day... and the old osteopathic trick of completely ignoring the crying baby in your arms and getting on with what your doing came in most handy. Felt most un-compassionate, but there was nothing wrong with her and nothing I could do except cuddle her and get it done. If you have any tips...
Port. The alcoholic variety - for you and her. Oh, and the fact that crying's normal, females do it all the time and there's often nothing really wrong...
thanks for the tip... I mentioned to someone here that we put a spoonfull of brandy in her formula to make her sleep... and I think they took me seriously by the look of horror on their faces!
Anyway - she's sleeping well and crying only in spurts... so far not more than a few minutes tops in any one go.
Donna's just back from the official weigh in... and Carys is now a gargantuan 8lb 11oz!
Must be doing OK to have gained a pound in 2 weeks!

Tee Hee - yes I seem to remember whilst in LA with Carri I mentioned to someone that I enjoyed a glass of ginger wine - and they asked me, seriously, if I had a problem with liquor! Ha!
